What is Applied Behaviour Analysis?

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapy for children at PALS Therapy Clinic in Ottawa

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is a widely recognized, evidence-based therapy that focuses on understanding and improving behaviour in meaningful, observable, and measurable ways. It breaks down complex skills into smaller, teachable, and achievable components. Then uses systematic, data-driven strategies to help children develop communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, daily living, play and independence skills. ABA also aims to reduce challenging behaviours by understanding the purpose or reason behind the behaviour to teach safer, more effective ways for children to communicate their needs.
